Despite the fact that my flight was with a connection from Houston to Frankfurt and then to my final destination in Astana, the female employees of United Airlines misled me by saying that my baggage would only be sent to Frankfurt even though the baggage was paid through to Astana. They told me that I would be able to collect it from the carousel in Frankfurt, re-check it, and hand it in again. However, I explained that I did not have a Schengen visa to leave the transit area to collect my baggage, to which they assured me that we would be allowed through, as they allegedly had certain arrangements in place. As a result, my baggage was lost. Out of a total of three suitcases, one was lost and only two were received in Astana. |
