Overhead compartment Row 12, AA Flt 4298 ORD to CMI
On boarding in Chicago I placed my backpack and my hat in the overhead compartment of row 12, seat 12A. When I debarked in in Champaign, I retrieved my backpack but not my hat. I noticed this while waiting for our luggage and tried to go back aboard the airplane but was prevented by security personnel. The next day I visited the AA counter at CMI airport. They checked and my hat had not been turned in.
The hat has little financial value but great personal value to me. It’s essentially irreplaceable.
