Whilst going through checking. The security guard took my dad’s AirPod off and put it in a separate try completely on its own. The tray went back into the conveyor belt and the AirPod vanished. The security checked through footage and saw the AirPod disappear and wasn’t found suggesting it may have got lost in the mechanical parts of the conveyor. . Footage was checked around 15.25 on 1st April. My dad is a wheelchair user and was being supported by special assistance. This happened on lane one of north terminal Gatwick.
