ELAL Airlines Lost and Found

Lost Something on El Al?

El Al handles millions of passengers each year, and items are frequently left behind on aircraft. Whether you lost something in your seat pocket, overhead bin, or at the gate, we can help.

How to Report a Lost Item

The fastest way to start your search is to file a lost item report. We’ll contact El Al’s lost and found department and search for your item.

Where Items Are Typically Found

  • Seat pocket: Phones, tablets, books, headphones
  • Overhead bin: Jackets, bags, laptops
  • Under seat: Small items that rolled away
  • Gate area: Items left while boarding

What Happens After You Report

  1. Submit your lost item details
  2. We contact El Al lost and found
  3. If located, we arrange return shipping
  4. You’re reunited with your belongings

Tips for Recovery

  • Know your flight: Flight number, date, and seat help locate items
  • Act fast: Airlines typically hold items 30-90 days
  • Be detailed: Describe your item precisely

Airline or Airport: Who Has Your Item?

Where you lost something decides who holds it. Items left on board an El Al aircraft (in the seat pocket, overhead bin or under a seat) are normally collected when the cabin is cleaned and passed to El Al’s lost and found or its ground team at the airport where the flight landed. Items lost in the terminal, at the gate, in a lounge or at security usually go to the airport’s own lost and found or the security screening team instead. If you are not sure where you left it, check with both.

Details to Have Ready

  • Flight number, date and route
  • Your seat number, or where in the airport you last had the item
  • Brand, model, colour and any marks that make it unique
  • Serial number or IMEI for electronics, plus a receipt or photo that shows it is yours
  • A phone number and email address where you can be reached

Checked Bag Delayed or Missing?

A delayed, damaged or missing checked bag is a baggage claim rather than a lost-item report. Report it at El Al’s baggage service desk at your arrival airport before you leave if you can, and keep your bag tag receipt and boarding pass.

Next Steps
