On Monday, March 16, 2020, as I was departing Dubai to return to Dallas, TX on Flight EK221, at approximately 1:15am, while going through the check-in process, I forgot to retrieve my two 2 Apple iPads from the screening location prior to going to my departure gate at A20.As I was going through the check-in process, I was instructed to remove my two iPad from my carry-on luggage and placed them together in the gray tray for them to go through the scanner. I proceeded to go through the scanner, however, because I have a surgically replaced knee, I was called to the side for additional screening and because my jewelry tools 2-bent chain nose pliers were detected on the computer scanner. After I was physically scanned and after airport employee saw the pliers, I was cleared to proceed to my departure gate. I hurriedly gathered my purse and stuffed my jewelry tool bag back into my carry-on luggage to catch the train to Gate A20. As I was going through the check-in at Gate A20, I realized I had forgotten to retrieve my two iPads from the previous screening location. I immediately called this to the attention to the security personnel at Gate A20 and was advised to return to the original screening location to get the iPads. Not being familiar with the Dubai Airport, I went to the wrong screening location. When I explained what had happened, the security person at that location instructed me to go to the Lost and Found. When I arrived at the Dubai Airport Lost and Found Office, the security person instructed me to return to my departure gate to speak to the supervisor on duty, who would be able to call the screening location to have the iPads brought to Gate A20. However, when I returned to Gate A20 and spoke with the on duty supervisor, he stated based on the number of screening locations in the Dubai Airport, I didnt have sufficient time to get to the original screening location and return to my departure gate, as the plane was going to board in 20 minutes. The on-duty supervisor assured me the iPads would be located, as there are cameras in the area recording all activities. He was also extremely helpful with providing me the necessary information and instructions on how to file this lost and found claim.
