Returning to Amsterdam on KL 1032, LHR-AMS, departing Heathrow at 19:55 after attending a funeral of a friend in the U.K., I was assigned seat 15A at the emergency exit. As a result, my handbag was in the overhead bin in compliance with safety regulations. Another passenger was seated and sleeping in 15C. When I needed to take off my earrings as they were pinching, I did not wish to awaken the passenger in 15A to retrieve my handbag and put away my earrings. Instead, I placed them carefully on the empty seat between us on seat 15B, and also went to sleep. On arrival Schiphol, I picked up my passport and iPhone also on the seat next to me seat 15B, but I did not remember to look for and pick up my small, silver earrings. I am 100 certain the earrings were left on seat 15B when I disembarked. In Baggage Claim, realizing I had left them on the seat, I went immediately to the 2 persons in the KLM service center while waiting for my bag to arrive. They did not file a report or take any details neither did they call the gate or the Operations team to inquire if the earrings had been found. They instructed me to file this report. |
